ENKS warns of demographic change in Syrian Kurdistan and PYD welcomes
ARK News: While the PYD welcomes the return of all Syrian refugees in Turkey to the east of the Euphrates "safe area", the Kurdish National Council warns of demographic change if all Syrian refugees return from Turkey.
"We have no problem if all the Syrian refugees in Turkey return to the autonomous areas, they are mainly Syrian people and they have the right to live here," The PYD official Aldar Khalil told London's Asharq al-Awsat newspaper.
For his part, a Kurdish politician Ibrahim Biro, member of the Committee on Foreign Relations of the ENKS, warns of coming of all Syrian refugees to the safe area to be established in the east of the Euphrates, He told Asharq Al-Awsat: He told London’s Asharq al-Awsat newspaper that the war had not stopped and that their return to their original positions was difficult, therefore, we are concerned that Turkey will resettle more than 3 million Syrian refugees in that region.
He stressed that Washington agreed with Ankara not to force any Syrian to return by force while allowing the people of the region to return to it, he continued: “There are a large number of Kurds and Arabs in Turkey and therefore it would be positive to return the people of Raqqa, Deir al-Zour, and Hasaka to their areas, but it is unacceptable to bring the people of other areas by force to this region.
