Putin welcomes the establishment of a safe zone in the east of the Euphrates
ARK News: Talks between President Putin and his Turkish counterpart in Moscow focused on the planned “safe zone” in the east of the Euphrates.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan visited on Tuesday, 27.8.2019, Russia and met with Russian President Vladimir Putin. After the meeting, the two sides held a joint press conference, in which the Russian president stressed that the establishment of a safe area on the Turkish border with Syria, "Syrian Kurdistan" would be good for the territorial integrity of Syria.
"We understand very well the sensitivities of Turkey and the security of its borders must be guaranteed and this is its legitimate right," Putin said.
