Omar Glick: The safe zone in Syria would be a pass way for peace
ARK News: A spokesman for Turkey's ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) Omar Glick said, that the safe area in Syria will be a pass way for peace, and will contribute to stem the flow of migrants, at a press conference, held by Glick, in the capital Ankara, on Friday, August 23, 2019.
Glick stressed that the safe area should be under the control of Turkey, and that there is no PKK / PYD militants.
Pentagon spokesman Sean Robertson said, that military discussions between the US and Turkish sides in Ankara are ongoing and will not stop and that the initial understanding with Ankara prevents any Turkish incursion into Syria.
Robertson said in an interview with the al-Hurrah site, That US Defense Secretary Mark Esper and his Turkish counterpart Hulusi Akar have taken concrete steps so far, and have asked two days ago to start the implementation of the first phase of the "strategic" border security plan in Syrian Kurdistan, which will continue for a short period in preparation for launching several stages in the future, and all of which will constitute a road map to protect the border and reassure the Turkish and Kurdish sides that there will be no tension or unintended collision between them.
