The Peshmerga directs a request to Germany
ARK News: Peshmerga forces called on the German government on Wednesday to increase its support, coinciding with a visit by German Defense Minister Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer to the Kurdistan region.
Kramp arrived in Erbil on Tuesday from the Iraqi capital Baghdad, where she met Wednesday with the Interior Minister of the province, Rebar Ahmed, and discussed the file of training and support Peshmerga forces.
"Germany is continuing the process of supporting and training the Peshmerga forces," Aziz Waysi, the commander of the Peshmerga forces, told reporters.
Waysi called on the German government and parliament to increase their support for the Peshmerga.
Germany is a member of the international coalition that has provided humanitarian, logistical and military support to the Kurdistan Region over the past few years.
