Sputnik: The Turkish army may launch a military operation in eastern Euphrates after Eid al-Adha
ARK News: A Turkish military source revealed the date of the upcoming Turkish military operation in the eastern Euphrates in Syrian Kurdistan.
The Russian agency Sputnik quoted an unnamed Turkish military source as saying: "The Turkish army may launch the military operation after Eid al-Adha as planned, or it may be carried out at any moment according to developments."
Noting that the Turkish army may launch the operation at any moment in the event of Turkish territory under attack from Syrian territory, as happened in the military operation in the Kurdish city of Afrin.
The source added that “Ankara and Washington have not reached an understanding yet on the depth of the safe area east of the Euphrates, where the United States proposed that the Turkish military operation be carried out at a depth of 7-8 km.
The source said: “There is no sense to carry out a military operation at this deep, so Ankara insists on the implementation of the operation at a depth of 30 km and Turkey will not back down from its position”.
