Washington Post: US offers Turkey the final proposal on the safe area
ARK News: The Washington Post said that the US administration is trying in a last desperate attempt to prevent Turkey's military intervention in the eastern Euphrates, noting that to the arrival of a high-level delegation of the Ministry of Defense "Pentagon" to Ankara on Monday.
The newspaper said that this delegation "carries a final offer to alleviate Ankara's concern," after a continuing controversy for years between the two allies in the "NATO", the US offer, according to the newspaper, the implementation of Washington and Ankara joint operation to "secure" a border area of about 140 km and 15 km depth .
The offer includes the withdrawal of PYD militants from the area, the removal of their fortifications and joint patrols in one third of the territory between the Euphrates and Iraq, before the remaining two-thirds were subsequently cleared, Ankara has already rejected these conditions, insisting on declaring a "safe area" of at least 32 km wide, and special areas for the repatriation of refugees from Turkey to their areas in Syria.
