Afrin … Militias take over homes of Kurdish civilians

ARK News: Take over processes continue on the homes of Kurdish civilians in the Kurdish region of Afrin by the armed factions under false pretenses, mostly dealing with the former management of the PYD.

The Human Rights Organization in Afrin said in a report on Monday, 5 August 2019 that militias of al-Shamiya Front controlling the hand of Mabata town carrier out on Saturday, 03/08/2019 the abduction of Khalil Mahmoud Os Kuto, he was severely beaten and expelled from his home after the death of his father under the pretext that the house belongs to his father and not to him.

The organization added: On Sunday 04/08/2019 militias of the same faction (al-Shamiya Front) expelled the Kurdish citizen As’ad Ramo from his home, which he was restored it after Afrin war, where it was previously taken over by the former administration of the PYD in (2018) on the grounds that the ownership of the house belongs to the PYD and thus, remaining the citizen remains outside his home in the reigns of the PYD and the armed factions.

In Shara town the organization mentioned: After all these practices and violations which committed by the armed elements of the Hanish faction led by Abu Ghazi belonging to the banner of Sultan Murad faction in Shara town starting from the theft of water pumps, electrical wires, optical points, landline cables ending from exposing ransoms on everything during the past months, that Abu Ghazi invents a new method to the process of looting money from Kurdish citizens in Gabalaka village of Shara town. After the local council numbered the houses, Abu Ghazi reviewed the records and title deeds of the citizens in the village of Gabalaka and imposed a ransom of US $ 200 on each citizen if the person occupies the house other than his original owner, whether one of his brothers or a relative or tenant under a certified contract from the local council of the town, and otherwise, threaten, intimidate and deal with everyone in his own way if he does not meet his request, despite his claim to represent a military agency of the Ministry of Defense within the ministries of the Syrian interim government and not a technical observer of real estate and deeds of ownership.

Violations against Kurdish civilians continue in Afrin region, Afrin witnessed last week a violent campaign of raids on Mabata town and its villages and some villages administratively subordinate to the city of Afrin, where the factions kidnapped more than 150 people and released dozens of them after the investigation and payment of funds for the release and settlement of their situation.
