During the recent campaign … The abduction of more than 150 Kurdish civilians in Afrin
ARK News: The Kurdish region of Afrin witnessed a large-scale kidnapping campaign targeting Kurdish civilians under various pretexts, where the region witnessed during the recent campaign which carried out by the armed factions and groups in the villages of Mabata town the abduction of more than 150 Kurds and they have taken to an unknown destination.
The Human Rights Organization in Afrin said in its report: Armed security militias of al-Shamiya Front controlling the village of Raja in of Mabata town kidnapped on 23/07/2019 a number of Kurdish civilians on charges related to the previous administration and their names:
1. Mohamed Mukhtar.
2. Hanif Abdo
3. Anwar Wahid. Anwar Wahid was released on 27/07/2019
The Organization added: On 24/07/2019 the militias also kidnapped a number of other citizens in the following villages (Sherkan – Chomazna - Aljara) of Mabata town and are:
1. Ahmed Sido Faqi who is from Sherkan village, they imposed on him a fine of 100 thousand Syrian pounds for his release.
2. Izzat Khalil 80 years old from Chomazna village and imposed a fine of 100 thousand Syrian pounds for his release.
3. The wife of Rashid Sheikho.
4. Shaban Abu Hanif from Aljara village.
5. Abdullah Haji from the village of Aljara and imposed a fine of 100 thousand Syrian pounds for his release.
All citizens were released on 27/07/2019 after paying the mentioned sum.
The Organization added that on 02/08/2019 militias carried out the abduction of a number of other Kurdish civilians from the village of Mirkan of Mabata town on charges of compulsory recruitment service with the previous administration and their names are:
1. Tahir Hamo bin Manan.
2. Samir Abdo bin Abdo.
3. Hussein Ja’far bin Hamid.
4. Ismat Naso bin Walid.
5. Mohammed Ahmed bin Ahmed Hajji.
6. Mohammed Ja’far bin Mahmoud. They imposed on them a ransom of 100,000 Syrian pounds for the settlement of their security situation and release them.
The Organization also added: Militias also imposed fines of 100 thousand Syrian pounds for the settlement of the security situation and release them to the following citizens their names are:
1. Zakaria Ibrahim Alloush.
2. Mohammed Ibrahim Alloush.
3. Na'asan Rif’at Sino.
4. Shiyar Walid Na' so.
5. Salim Rashid Dado.
6. Rifai Iso.
7. Najib Mustafa Hanan.
8. Sons of Mohammed Qasim.
The Organization added: A masked gang on 02/07/2019 that has come from Afrin abducted three Kurdish civilians from the village of Joqe and take them to an unknown destination in front of the armed elements present without taking any security measures against them, despite the fact that the operation took place before their eyes and their passage across their checkpoints, the name of them are:
1. Mohammed Othman, 55 years - Mukhtar of the village.
2. Maher Rasho 25 years old.
3. Ibrahim Mustafa Nasser 53 years old.
1. In another report of the Organization, on Saturday morning, 03/07/2019, the civilian police abducted two citizens from the village of Mirkan under the pretext of compulsory service in the previous administration and took them to an unknown destination, and in order to settle their situation they imposed a ransom on them for their release, they are:
1- Shiyar Hamaliko bin Mohammed
2- Ja’far Jundi Bin Fathi.
The campaign began several days earlier under the pretext of fighting corruption, in which more than 150 Kurdish citizens have been kidnapped to date and no information has been received about their fate so far.
