Afrin: The kidnapping of an official in the local council in the city
ARK News: The Military Police in the Kurdish region of Afrin raided on 24 July 2019 the headquarters of the Local Council in Afrin city and kidnapping of the head of the Chamber of Engineers in the Local Council and took him to an unknown destination.
Local sources from Afrin city said that the Military Pollice abducted the Engineer Khoshnav Hamo, head of the Engineers Chamber in the Local Council from the headquarters of the Council and took him to an unknown destination.
The sources added that the kidnapping occurred during official working hours, where the engineer Khoshnav Hamo was at his work.
Khoshnav Hamo is the head of the Engineers' Chamber in the local council. He is the son of the late politician Rashid Hamo from the village of Hopka of Rajo town, and the charges against him have not been identified so far.
In the same cotext the armed factions controlling the village of Sannara of Shiye town kidnapped Abdul Qadir Zalkhe who is Education and Learning Official in the Local Council in Shiye town yesterday and hours later he was released.
This week, Afrin also witnessed the kidnapping of the Dr. Kamal Ja’far by armed group militias and took him to an unknown destination, demanding that the family pay $ 3000 for his release, and fate is still unknown so far.
According to local sources and Human Rights Organizations, at least 5,000 Kurdish civilians have been kidnapped since Turkey's control and armed factions, most of whom were physically tortured in exchange for their release.
