US Secretary of Defense Interim confirms the remain of US forces in Syria
ARK News: The US Defense Secretary Mark Espier said on Tuesday that the remaining of US military forces in Syria, in reference to its retreat from US President Trump's decision to withdraw from Syria.
"The remaining US armed forces in northeastern Syria will remain there as part of the multinational force to continue the campaign against Da'esh," Espier said during a hearing on the US parliament.
On December 19, Trump announced his decision to begin withdrawing some 2,000 US troops from Syria, Justified this step to achieve the defeat of the Terrorist Da’esh organization in this country, and that was the sole purpose of the presence of US troops there, according to Trump, and the White House announced that a small US peacekeeping force of about 200 troops will be kept for some time in Syria after the withdrawal.
