Statement of the General Secretariat of the Kurdish National Council about the recent terrorist bombings

ARK News: Three Kurdish cities were hit on Thursday, 11/7/2019, by terrorist acts, Through the bombing of three booby-trapped bicycle in populated areas in the neighborhood of Salihiya Hasaka city, as well as the detonation of a car bomb near the Church of the Virgin in Al-Wusta neighborhood of Qamishlo city, at a time when it was frequented by dozens of worshipers from the Christian brothers which resulted in the occurrence of many of the wounded from innocents, the Kurdish city of Afrin witnessed on the same day an explosion that killed innocent lives and many wounded.

The terrorist attacks in populated areas and their targeting of the Christian house of worship aim to spread terror and panic among the people and to push the Kurdish people and their Christian brethren into more emigration and alienation.

The Kurdish National Council, while paying tribute to the lives of martyrs, victims of the terrorist bombing, and wishes the speedy recovery of the wounded, condemns these terrorist crimes and those who stand behind them and affirms that they will not achieve their goals, and the Council also calls on the international community and the United Nations to deal firmly with these terrorists and to accelerate the political process and to find a political solution to the situation in the country which is leading to the establishment of a Syrian Democratic Federal for all Syrians and is the best way to eliminate terrorism and dry its sources. The Council also calls on the people of the region, with all their components, to be vigilant and cooperative in order to prevent the dangers of terrorism and to maintain civil peace and brotherly co-existence.
