Iranian Syrian Iraqi military meeting in Damascus

ARK News: The Syrian capital Damascus has witnessed extensive preparations for a military meeting involving Iraq and Iran along with a representative of the Syrian regime forces, in meeting which is the first of its kind at the level of chiefs of staff and is held in Syria, and according to leaked information the meeting will discuss several files, most of which relate to borders, exchange of detainees and land transportation.

The head of the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Mohammad Baqri arrived on Sunday, to the Syrian territory, headed a high-level military delegation, to participate in a meeting of the chiefs of staff with his Iraqi counterpart, and a representative of the Syrian regime forces.

According to leaked information obtained by the "New Arab", the tripartite meeting comes to discuss several Syrian-Iraqi files, under the auspices of Iran, mostly related to the border file and the exchange of detainees and land transport between Iran and Syria through Iraq.

And about the meeting, a senior Iraqi military official in Baghdad said during a telephone conversation with the "New Arab" that the chief of staff of the Iraqi army and army generals will participate in the meeting as part of Iraqi efforts to secure the western border with Syria
