Washington: The Hug of Assad and Khamenei is the hug of killers
ARK News: The US State Department commented on a picture showing the embrace between Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei during their meeting in Tehran on Monday as the hug of killers.
The US State Department's Twitter team posted on Wednesday a picture under the title "hug of the killers”, adding that this hug "is not a consolation to the Syrian and Iranian people."
The group blamed the Iranian government for "spending the wealth of the people on supporting global terrorism and repressive regimes in the region," accusing the Syrian authorities of "killing, maiming and displacing millions of Syrians."
Washington sees the Iranian authorities as its biggest enemy at the international level accusing it of supporting terrorism and destabilizing the region and intensified its efforts against Tehran after the decision of President Donald Trump last year to withdraw from the nuclear agreement between the Islamic Republic and the major powers in 2015
