Iraq confirms handing over two Frenchmen from Da’esh arrested in Syria

ARK News: Iraqi President Barham Saleh declared on Monday that his country will prosecute 13 French citizens were arrested during the fighting in the ranks of the organization of Da’esh in Syria.

Saleh said during a press conference, followed by talks with French President Emmanuel Macaron, that the militants who were handed over to Baghdad by Syria's democratic militants in Syria will be prosecuted under the provisions of Iraqi law.

The announcement by the Iraqi president that his country may be a ground for the prosecution of foreign militants in Da’esh, which could be a way out of countries that refuse to regain its citizens belonging to the terrorist organization.

Iraqi military sources said on Sunday that Syria's US-backed Democratic fighters handed over 20 fighters to Iraq last week from foreigners militants of Da’esh organization mostly are French.

The sources added that foreign militants were handed over to the Iraqi army on Thursday, as a military source leading the army forces near the Syrian border and close to the handover to Reuters, the group includes up to 14 French.
