Pederson meets Oğlu in Ankara
ARK News: Turkish Foreign Minister Mouloud Gawish Oğlu on Monday received UN Special Envoy to Syria Geir Pederson in Ankara in the context of the latter's tour of several countries concerned with the Syrian file.
Turkish diplomatic sources mentioned to Anatolia, that Gawish Oğlu met Pedersen and his delegation at his office in the Foreign Ministry, pointing out that the two sides discussed the political track in Syria, noting that Gawish expressed to the UN envoy supporting his country's tasks, and Turkey's aspirations in this context.
The UN envoy to Syria, Geir Pederson, met Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shukri on Sunday in the Egyptian capital of Cairo, and he met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, who said that the United Nations and Russia are playing an important role in advancing the political process in Syria, he also visited Damascus, where he met with Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem. He also met with the opposition negotiating body and discussed the Syrian solution.
