Syria and Lebanon Coordinate Over Syrian Military Deployment Along Border

ARK News.. Lebanese authorities are coordinating directly with the Syrian government regarding the intensified military deployment carried out by Syrian forces along the Lebanon–Syria border in recent days, according to a Syrian media source.

According to Syria TV, the coordination is taking place through security and military channels aimed at clarifying the nature of the Syrian troop movements and preventing any potential “misunderstandings” amid escalating regional tensions.

The source said the Syrian side informed Lebanese officials that the ongoing deployment is part of a broader plan to reinforce and secure the border, as well as to prevent Syrian territory from being used as a platform for any military or security activities linked to the ongoing regional and international conflicts.

According to the report, Syrian authorities stressed that the measures are not directed against Lebanon and that there is no hostile intent behind the deployment.

Instead, the military steps are primarily intended to stabilize conditions on both sides of the border, the source added, noting that tightening control over crossings and expanding military presence would help protect both Syria and Lebanon and prevent attempts to exploit the border amid the evolving regional security situation.
