Feb 13 2026

ARK News.. Members of the UN Security Council have welcomed the comprehensive agreement between the Syrian government and the Syrian Democratic Forces, as well as the start of its implementation, according to the official UN News website.

In a press statement published on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2026, Council members stressed the need for both parties to adhere to the agreement to reduce civilian suffering, support counterterrorism efforts, ensure the protection of civilians, guarantee unimpeded access for humanitarian assistance, and continue Syria’s post-war recovery.

The statement said members also welcomed Decree No. 13 issued by Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa to guarantee the rights of Syrian Kurds. They encouraged further progress in integrating Kurdish representatives into the government and facilitating the return of displaced Kurds to their areas of origin, underscoring the Syrian government’s primary responsibility to protect all its citizens.

The Council further called on all parties to avoid any security vacuum in and around detention centers holding Islamic State fighters in northeastern Syria.
