ARK News: Heavy rain caused hundreds of tents to drown in the northern Syrian camps especially the Atma camp on the Syrian-Turkish border

Activist Rami al-Sayyid, who is in the Deir Ballot refugee camp in Afrin, Kurdistan, told "The New Arab" that " heavy rains flooded the tents of the displaced in the camp Atma, which includes about 100 thousand families, " pointing out that the hardest hit is al-Omar camp which is located in a low area

Activist Ali from Atma camp said that “the elements of civil defense have evacuated families to relatively high places and to some homes."

He explained that the rainfall led to the flood of the sewage river coming from the town of Atma which caused the sinking al-Oman camp, as well as part of Anfal camp and most of the camps in the valley, such as Yamamah al-Ghab and al-Ansar and Orient, pointing to the sinking of about 300 tents

The activists appealed to humanitarian organizations to provide shelter for the people, especially as the winter is still in its infancy.

One of the civil defense officials said in a distress call broadcast on social networking sites that they moved the people to some neighboring camps as a temporary solution, noting that this situation is repeated annually because these camps are located in a low area, and there is no infrastructure to prevent these situations.
