Tom Barrack: Syria Must Secure a Foothold Among Its Neighbors
ARK News.. U.S. Special Envoy to Syria Tom Barrack denied reports claiming that negotiations between Syria and Israel for a security agreement had collapsed.
Speaking to Al Jazeera, Barrack stated:
“It is not true that Syria’s security agreement with Israel failed at the last moment.”
He emphasized that Syria is located in a strategically important neighborhood and must secure a foothold among its neighbors.
Barrack further noted that integrating all of Syria’s diverse communities into a single state will require significant effort and commitment.
Earlier, Reuters had reported that the talks faced a last-minute obstacle, raising concerns over the fate of the security deal.
