UK Reaffirms Commitment to Supporting Syria’s Recovery
ARK News.. The United Kingdom has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Syria’s recovery and strengthening economic ties with Damascus.
Anne Snow, the UK’s Special Envoy to Syria, announced on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, via her account on X that she held a meeting in Damascus with Syrian Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Hind Kibbawat to discuss the pressing challenges facing the Syrian people.
During the meeting, Snow stressed that the United Kingdom remains committed to supporting the Syrian people by strengthening civil society and ensuring the delivery of essential services.
She added that she also met with Syrian Finance Minister Mohammad Yussir Barniya to review the country’s financial situation and explore opportunities to enhance economic relations between Syria and the UK, as part of London’s efforts to back Syria’s economic recovery.
