for People’s Assembly to Be Announced Within Two Days
ARK News.. Nawwar Najmeh, spokesperson for Syria’s Supreme Committee for People’s Assembly Elections, confirmed that the preliminary lists of members of the electoral bodies will be published within the next two days.
Speaking to SANA, Najmeh said that citizens will be allowed to submit objections to the published names, provided that these objections comply with the criteria and conditions set forth in the temporary electoral law.
He added that once objections are reviewed and resolved, final lists will be announced, followed by a precise timetable for the entire electoral process — including the opening of candidate registration, the campaign period, and ultimately election day when ballot boxes will be opened.
Najmeh also revealed that roughly 14,000 individuals across Syria have applied to join the electoral bodies and that all applications will be reviewed with full transparency and impartiality.
