Hasaka: Inmates Attempt Escape from Kalasa Prison

ARK News.. Field sources reported that several inmates attempted to escape from Kalasa Prison in the city of Hasaka, in Syrian Kurdistan, after unrest broke out inside the facility.
According to BassNews, a group of civilian prisoners—none of them affiliated with ISIS—tried to flee the prison on Thursday evening, August 22, but the attempt was thwarted.
Other sources, however, indicated that some inmates managed to escape after killing a guard and seizing his weapon.
BassNews added that the situation inside the prison and in its surrounding area is now fully under the control of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
