Clashes Erupt on Multiple Fronts in Syria’s Suwayda Province
ARK News.. Sporadic clashes broke out, on Saturday, in Syria’s southern Suwayda province, despite a period of relative calm. Local sources reported confrontations between armed groups and internal security forces on several fronts, including the towns of Ariqa, Qarasa, and Dama in the countryside of Suwayda.
The clashes erupted just one day after Suwayda Governor Mustafa al-Bakour called for reconciliation among local tribes and residents, urging restraint and dialogue to maintain social peace. In a public statement, al-Bakour emphasized the importance of preserving communal harmony, promoting reason, and avoiding sectarian strife.
The situation remains tense as intermittent fighting continues, raising concerns over further escalation in the restive province.
