Tom Barrack Affirms U.S. Support for Syria’s Reconstruction Efforts
ARK News.. Special Envoy to Syria Tom Barrack praised the launch of a new phase of development, infrastructure rebuilding, and political stability in Syria, reaffirming the United States’ backing of efforts to reconstruct the country.
Speaking after attending a high-level investment signing ceremony held in Damascus alongside Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa, Barrack stated: “The prosperous and peaceful future of Syria lies in the hands of Syrians and their regional partners.” He specifically highlighted Qatari company UCC and Turkish firms Cengiz and Kalyon, which are leading the redevelopment project of Damascus International Airport, encompassing construction, transportation, and operations.
Barrack added, “With the lifting of sanctions by President Donald Trump, I was pleased to attend today’s signing ceremony in Damascus. The path to recovery must begin with building the foundations of security and stability, followed by governance systems, and finally the flourishing of the economy and projects.”
