Nechirvan Barzani: Kurdistan Will Forever Remain a Homeland for All Communities
ARK News.. On the 92nd anniversary of Assyrian Martyrs’ Day, Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani reaffirmed on Thursday, August 7, 2025, that Kurdistan will remain a home and homeland for all its communities.
In a post on the X platform, Barzani honored “the souls of the innocent victims of the Simel genocide, who fell in 1933 along with residents of more than sixty villages in Nineveh and Duhok provinces, at the hands of the then-royal authorities in Iraq.”
He stressed the importance of “protecting and promoting a pluralistic culture, fostering coexistence, and embracing diversity,” assuring all communities that “Kurdistan will forever remain a home and homeland for everyone.”
