Kurdistan Region and Kingdom of Bahrain Reaffirm Commitment to Strengthening Bilateral Relations

ARK News.. The President of the Kurdistan Region and the Bahraini Ambassador to Iraq reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening ties and expanding areas of cooperation, particularly in the economic and commercial sectors.

On Tuesday, August 5, 2025, Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani received Khalid Ahmed al-Mansour, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to Iraq, in Erbil. The two officials discussed bilateral relations between Bahrain, Iraq, and the Kurdistan Region.

Both sides expressed mutual interest in deepening their relationship and broadening cooperation, especially in the fields of trade and economic development. They also agreed to exchange expertise and benefit from each other's experiences.

Ambassador al-Mansour emphasized Bahrain’s keen interest in fostering ties with both Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. He also highlighted ongoing efforts to open an official representative office for the Kingdom of Bahrain in Erbil.

The meeting also addressed the state of relations between Erbil and Baghdad, the overall situation in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, as well as recent regional developments.
