Nechirvan Barzani: The Kurd and Other Syrian Components Must Be Active Partners in Syria’s Present and Future
ARK News.. Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani met on Thursday, July 31, 2025, with General Kevin Lamberd, the Commander of the International Coalition Forces in Iraq and Syria, accompanied by a delegation.
The meeting discussed the latest security developments, the threat of terrorism, and ISIS movements and attacks, highlighting the need to advance the unification and reform of the Peshmerga Ministry.
Both sides agreed that ISIS remains a serious threat to the security and stability of Iraq and Syria, emphasizing the necessity for all relevant parties to cooperate and coordinate fully to defeat the group and continue the Coalition’s mission until its complete eradication.
The discussions also underlined that Kurd and other Syrian components must be active partners in shaping the country’s present and future, reflecting their role in building a stable and inclusive Syria.
The meeting further addressed the latest developments in the Middle East, their impact on regional stability, and Iraq and Kurdistan Region’s relations with neighboring countries.
