U.S. Condemns Attacks on Critical Infrastructure in the Kurdistan Region
ARK News.. The U.S. Embassy in Iraq has condemned drone attacks targeting critical infrastructure at the Khormala and Sarsing oil fields in the Kurdistan Region.
In a post published on Platform X on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, the U.S. Embassy in Iraq expressed the United States’ condemnation of the recent drone attacks in several areas, specifically highlighting the incidents on July 14 and 15 that targeted vital infrastructure at the Khormala and Sarsing oil fields in the Kurdistan Region.
The embassy stressed that such attacks pose a threat to Iraq’s sovereignty and undermine its efforts to attract foreign investment, particularly at sites where Iraqi and international companies are partnering to support the country’s economic future.
The United States also called on the Iraqi government to fully exercise its authority to prevent the recurrence of such assaults, to conduct transparent investigations, and to hold those responsible accountable
