Hind Qabawat: We Aim to Completely Eliminate Tents and Aid Baskets in Syria
ARK News.. Syria’s Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Hind Qabawat, confirmed that the ministry is working to completely eliminate reliance on tents and emergency aid baskets within two years. She stressed that this goal is part of a comprehensive plan to build a more sustainable and humane social sector.
Qabawat said President Ahmad al-Sharaa has instructed the government to deliver this transformation within just two years. She confirmed that the ministry has already begun implementing measures on the ground to achieve the target, especially by helping people return to their homes and moving away from dependence on emergency relief.
The Minister explained that the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor is responsible for two major portfolios: the first involves employment, labor, and occupational safety, while the second focuses on social care for the most vulnerable groups, including orphans, widows, the elderly, people with disabilities, and displaced persons.
