Content of the Meeting of Local Council Heads of the Eastern District of the Kurdish National Council

The heads of local councils affiliated with the Eastern District of the Kurdish National Council in Syria held their regular monthly meeting on Sunday in the city of Qamishlo, discussing key organizational issues that address citizens’ needs and serve the public interest—especially given the sensitive circumstances facing the region.

The meeting was attended by Muhammad Ismail, President of the Kurdish National Council, and Nash’at Zaza, Head of the Council’s Office for Local Affairs.

Participants reviewed the performance of the local councils and their operational mechanisms over the past period, discussing essential organizational matters directly tied to serving local communities amid ongoing challenges.

Nash’at Zaza delivered a detailed briefing on the current political developments in Syria, alongside accompanying economic and social shifts, emphasizing that the Council is closely monitoring these changes.

He also addressed the delay in the planned visit of the Kurdish delegation to Damascus, explaining that the postponement was due to political reasons that require further coordination and preparation.
