Syrian Democratic Forces Abduct Kurdish Minor in Aleppo’s Sheikh Maqsoud Neighborhood
ARK News.. Once again, Aleppo’s Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood has witnessed the abduction of a Kurdish minor by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), who reportedly transferred him to military training camps.
A source told ARK News that armed members of the Revolutionary Youth Movement affiliated with the SDF, abducted 12-year-old Mohammed Shawqi Youssef on June 12, 2025, from the Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood in Aleppo.
The kidnapped child, Mohammed Shawqi Youssef, is originally from the village of Aranda in the Shiye town of Afrin.
This incident comes despite a signed Action Plan between SDF Commander Mazloum Abdi and Virginia Gamba, the UN Special Representative for Children and Armed Conflict, aimed at ending and preventing the recruitment and use of children under the age of 18 in armed conflict.
Nevertheless, the recruitment and deployment of minors by the SDF reportedly continues.
