International Coalition Shoots Down Two Drones Over Kurdistan Region
ARK News.. Security sources in the Kurdistan Region reported that international coalition forces intercepted and downed two unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) over Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region, after detecting them in two separate locations.
According to Kurdish media sources on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, the first drone was brought down over the village of Mastawa, while the second was intercepted above the village of Pir Dawoud.
A third drone was also downed early Monday over Erbil’s airspace. None of the incidents resulted in casualties or material damage.
The events come amid rapidly escalating tensions between Israel and Iran following a series of reciprocal strikes on military sites and strategic infrastructure since early Friday.
