Kurdish Doctor Named Among “Best Doctors of 2025”

ARK News.. The name of Kurdish expatriate physician Professor Ghazi Zibari, who has resided in the United States since the 1970s, has been included in the “Best Doctors of 2025” list issued by the American Registry of Physicians. The list highlights leading medical professionals across the United States.

In a post on Facebook, Dr. Zibari expressed his gratitude, stating:
"It’s not difficult to stand out in the United States. All the credit goes to my mentors, teachers, colleagues, staff, students, my family, and my patients who trusted me with their care. Hard work, integrity, honesty, resilience, and passion pay off in the end."

The "Best Doctors" list is one of the most prominent medical evaluation tools in the U.S., based on peer nominations and reviews from fellow doctors, as well as professional and leadership achievements in the medical field.

Each year, the list features an elite group of distinguished physicians from various specialties and regions, reflecting the diversity of excellence and expertise within the American healthcare system.

Professor Zibari is considered a prominent figure in American medical circles. Since 1976, he has served as Chair of the Department of Surgery and Director of the Medical Program at a university in Louisiana. He also heads the John McDonald Center for Organ Surgery and Transplantation.

In 2024, he was elected President of the American Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association and also chairs the International Relations Committee of the American Society of Transplant Surgeons.

He previously won the Medical Innovation Award in New York in 2022, surpassing over 3,000 physicians from more than 100 countries.

In 2021, he was named the Best Doctor in Louisiana, based on peer voting in recognition of his “high professionalism and scientific and clinical excellence.”
