
KNC’s Local Councils Affairs Office Convenes in Qamishlo
ARK News.. The Office of Local Councils Affairs of the Kurdish National Council (KNC) held its regular meeting on Saturday, May 31, 2025, in Qamishlo, bringing together representatives from both eastern and western districts.
The agenda covered several key areas:
Organizational and Administrative Review
Participants evaluated recent activities and the administrative performance of local councils. Discussions focused on internal structures, coordination mechanisms, and potential reforms to enhance organizational effectiveness.
Cultural Engagements Across Kurdish Regions
The meeting also reviewed the Council’s cultural initiatives across cities including Derik and Kobani. These included lectures and seminars aimed at engaging local communities and shedding light on current developments in Syrian and Kurdish affairs.
Political Developments
The discussion turned to the delay in announcing the joint Kurdish delegation and the recent visit of the PYD-led Autonomous Administration’s delegation to Damascus.
Unified Position on Kurdish Representation
Concluding the session, members reaffirmed their full support for the outcomes of the Kurdish Unity Conference, held on April 26, 2025. The Council emphasized its continued commitment to Kurdish unity and advancing the just cause of the Kurdish people.
This meeting underscored the KNC’s ongoing efforts to reinforce internal cohesion and present a unified Kurdish position ahead of expected negotiations with the Syrian transitional government.
