Kurdistan Democratic Party: We Will Take a Firm Stance if Entitlements Are Not Sent Before Eid

ARK News.. The Political Bureau of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) issued a statement on Thursday warning that it will take a serious position if the salaries and entitlements of the people of the Kurdistan Region are not disbursed before Eid al-Adha.

Full Statement:

We inform the public in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region that the federal government continues to violate the constitutional rights of the Kurdistan Region. The latest of these violations is the letter issued yesterday by the Federal Ministry of Finance, which contravenes the Iraqi Constitution and undermines the principles upon which the current federal government was formed. This move clearly politicizes the livelihoods of citizens.

The matter will be discussed in the upcoming meeting of the KDP Central Committee, scheduled for June 2, 2025, where an appropriate decision will be made.

Should the federal government fail to release the salaries and entitlements of the people of the Kurdistan Region before the occasion of Eid al-Adha, the Kurdistan Democratic Party will take a firm and decisive stance, which will be publicly announced.
