President Barzani and Nuh Yilmaz Discuss Peace and Reconciliation Process in Turkey

ARK News.. President Masoud Barzani met with Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Dr. Nuh Yilmaz to discuss the internal situation in the Kurdistan Region and the ongoing steps toward forming a new regional government.

On Friday, April 18, 2025, President Barzani received Dr. Nuh Yilmaz and his accompanying delegation at the Barzani summer residence in Salahuddin. The delegation included Turkish Ambassador to Iraq Anıl Bora Inan, Turkish Consul General in Erbil “Emran Topçu”, and several Turkish diplomats.

The discussions focused on the internal developments within the Kurdistan Region, progress toward the formation of the new regional government, and relations between Erbil and Baghdad.

The two sides also exchanged views on the broader political dynamics in the region and potential future developments.

Another key topic of the meeting was the relationship between the Kurdistan Region and Turkey, including ways to strengthen bilateral ties and enhance cooperation. The peace and reconciliation process in Turkey were also a central point of discussion.
