Syrian Democratic Forces Abduct a Minor from Sheikh Maqsoud Neighborhood in Aleppo
ARK News.. The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) continue their policy of terrorizing children, depriving them of their childhood, and forcibly recruiting them into military camps in areas under their control. In the latest incident, a minor was abducted from a village in Afrin’s Bulbul district.
A confidential source told ARK News that armed members of the Revolutionary Youth Movement affiliated with the SDF, abducted 15-year-old Farida Khalil Mohammed on February 15, 2025, after iftar near the vegetable market on Bilaliko Street in Sheikh Maqsoud, Aleppo.
According to the source, when the girl's family approached compulsory service centers, the neighborhood’s Asayish forces, and the Revolutionary Youth Movement headquarters, they initially denied any involvement in her disappearance or recruitment. However, militants later admitted to holding the girl.
The abducted minor hails from Bekhcha village in Afrin’s Bilbile town.
Despite SDF commander Mazloum Abdi signing an action plan with Virginia Gamba, the UN Special Representative for Children and Armed Conflict, to end and prevent the recruitment of children under 18 for military purposes, the practice of enlisting minors into combat roles continues unabated.
