The Kurdish National Council Welcomes Abdullah Ocalan’s Call

The General Secretariat of the Kurdish National Council (KNC) issued a statement welcoming the call made by the leader of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), Mr. Abdullah Ocalan, in which he urged the PKK to abandon armed struggle, dissolve itself, and engage in peaceful democratic struggle.

The Kurdish National Council in Syria welcomes the call made by the leader of the Kurdistan Workers' Party, Mr. Abdullah Ocalan, on February 27, 2025, in which he called on the party to abandon armed struggle, dissolve itself, and engage in peaceful democratic struggle.
The Council believes that the success of this initiative depends on the party and its fighters' response to this call, as this step represents a genuine opportunity to end violence and adopt political struggle and peaceful solutions to address the Kurdish issue in Turkey.
The Council also calls on the Turkish government to respond positively to this call by initiating a serious dialogue that contributes to finding a just solution to the Kurdish issue and promoting the principles of democracy and equal citizenship, ensuring security and stability in Turkey and the region.
