Aleppo: Syrian Democratic Forces Abduct Arab Minor in Sheikh Maqsoud Neighborhood
ARK News.. The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) continue their policy of intimidating children, stripping them of their childhood, and forcing them into compulsory recruitment camps in areas under their control. In the latest incident, an Arab minor was abducted in the Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood of Aleppo.
Armed members of the Revolutionary Youth Movement affiliated with the SDF, kidnapped 14-year-old Nada Youssef al-Hamdo on February 22, 2025, right in front of her school in Sheikh Maqsoud.
This abduction comes despite the commitment made by SDF Commander Mazloum Abdi, who signed an action plan with Virginia Gamba, the United Nations Special Representative for Children and Armed Conflict. The agreement aimed to end and prevent the recruitment and use of children under 18 in military operations. However, the practice of enlisting minors in combat roles continues unabated.
