Nechirvan Barzani Stresses Protection of Kurdish Rights and All Communities in Syria
ARK News.. As part of his meetings at the Munich Security Conference, Nechirvan Barzani, President of the Kurdistan Region, met with Dr. Mohammed al-Khulaifi, Minister of State at the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on Friday, February 14, 2025.
During the meeting, both sides discussed strengthening relations between Qatar, Iraq, and the Kurdistan Region. They also reviewed the latest developments in Iraq, the Kurdistan Region, and the broader Middle East, with a particular focus on the situation in Syria.
Both leaders reaffirmed their support for security and stability in Syria and addressed the issue of Kurds and other communities in the context of a new Syria. Nechirvan Barzani emphasized the importance of protecting the rights of Kurds and all communities and ensuring their participation in shaping Syria's future.
The meeting also covered Iraq and the Kurdistan Region's relations with neighboring countries and several other matters of mutual interest.
