ARK News.. Viyan Dakhil, spokesperson for the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) bloc in the Iraqi Parliament, has called on the Iraqi government to take immediate action and officially engage with Syria’s newly appointed president, Ahmad al-Shar’i, urging him to take serious and swift steps to uncover the fate of Yazidi women still held captive by ISIS. She emphasized that Syrian territories continue to harbor a significant number of young women who have endured horrific crimes.

Dakhil stressed that this humanitarian issue cannot tolerate further delays or bureaucratic obstacles, calling for intensified search efforts, intelligence cooperation, and the establishment of formal channels between the Iraqi federal government, the Kurdistan Regional Government, and the Syrian authorities to achieve tangible results.

She further stated that resolving this case is a real test of the new Syrian leadership’s commitment to human rights and justice. Dakhil urged the Iraqi government to prioritize this issue in its bilateral relations with Syria and coordinate with the Kurdistan Regional Government and the international community to ensure the liberation of all kidnapped women and bring an end to this ongoing humanitarian tragedy.
