Afrin.. Fires devour hundreds of forest and fruit trees in Rajo town

ARK News.. Once again, fires have devoured large areas of vegetation and fruit and forest trees in Rajo town in Afrin city.

Local sources from Afrin city said that fires, on Saturday, July 27, 2024, broke out in the forest and fruit areas in the villages of (Midanas) of Rajo town, especially in the villages of (Kusa - Paneraka - Shingele).

According to the sources, the fires are strong and cannot be controlled, and "until the preparation of the report" the fires are still raging and continuing to devour hundreds of forest and fruit trees in the region.

The fires broke out on the night of Tuesday - Wednesday, July 23 and 24, 2024, in the forest and fruit areas in the villages of Sarinjake and Bekhcha affiliated with Bilbile town, and the village of (Bilelko) and the villages of (Midanas) in Rajo town.

Local sources confirmed that in the village of (Bilelko) alone, about (3) thousand fruitful olive trees were burned, in addition to hundreds of other fruitful trees (olives - cherries - pistachios) and forest trees "oak" in the mentioned villages in town of Bilbile and Rajo.

According to local sources, the fire was controlled on Wednesday afternoon, July 24, 2024.

On Thursday, July 11, 2024, fires broke out in agricultural lands and forests in a mountain adjacent to the village of Beke in Bilbile town of Afrin in Syrian Kurdistan, and dozens of olive and forest trees were burned as a result of the fire.

On Sunday, July 8, 2024, fires broke out in agricultural lands and forests located between the villages of Midanas, Semalka, Adama, and Bilelko in the Rajo town of Afrin city. The fires devoured hundreds of Oak trees (Oak, Qatlab, and Pistacia) and dozens of olive and sumac trees.

On Sunday, June 2, 2024, fires broke out in the forests of Mount Bilal in the Rajo town of Afrin city in Syrian Kurdistan.

Mount Zênê, opposite to Mount Bilal, was deliberately set on fire at the end of last May, and material damage was recorded to the property of the Kurds in the area.
