The President of the Kurdistan Region receives an invitation to participate in the World Presidents’ Summit in Azerbaijan
ARK News.. The Presidency of the Kurdistan Region received an official invitation from the Presidency of Azerbaijan to the President of the Kurdistan Region to participate in the Summit of World Presidents, at the United Nations Water and Air Conference.
Fawzi Hariri, Chief of Staff of the Presidency of the Kurdistan Region, on Monday, July 22, 2024, received the Azerbaijani Ambassador to Iraq, Nasir Mammadov.
During the meeting, the Ambassador of Azerbaijan handed over an official invitation from his country’s presidency to Nechirvan Barzani, President of the Kurdistan Region, to participate in the Summit of World Presidents, at the United Nations Conference on Water and Air (COP29), which will be held from (11-22) of November 2024 in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.
The Azerbaijani ambassador confirmed that President Nechirvan Barzani visits to Baku and meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev opened a new chapter in his country's relations with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
The meeting discussed the development of relations between Azerbaijan, Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, the situation in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region and developments in the region in general.
