Mazloum Abdi: We are ready for dialogue with Turkey, and our goal is to protect the geography of Syria and not divide it
ARK News.. The commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces revealed that they are ready for dialogue with Turkey, and their primary goal is to protect the geographical unity of Syria and not divide it.
In a video published by the Syrian Democratic Forces website on Saturday, July 20, 2024, Mazloum Abdi, Commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces, said: “We are ready for dialogue with all forces, including Turkey as well, and we will support any dialogue that leads to stopping the fighting and reaching a political solution to the crisis.”
Abdi added: “We have always worked for the unity of Syrian geography and not to divide it, and we will continue our struggle and work today and tomorrow as well.”
He stressed that the policy of the Syrian Democratic Forces preserves the unity of Syrian territory.
Mazloum Abdi's statement comes at a time when officials of the PYD administration accuse the Kurdish National Council in Syria of being a proxy for Turkey and of being linked to the Turkish MIT.
The PYD administration also publicly denounces the meetings of representatives of the Kurdish National Council in Syria with Turkish officials, while its leaders (Qandil) conduct meetings with the Turkish MIT in dark rooms, as political analysts confirm.
Earlier, Mazloum Abdi held a meeting with the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, in which he said that our relations with the regime are continuing and have not been interrupted, and we want to reach a solution to the differences between us, but the Assad regime is not currently ready to reach solutions.
Regarding the SDF’s relationship with Turkey, Abdi said: We want to resolve our differences with Turkey through dialogue and negotiation if Turkey is serious, and we are ready for any meeting with them.
