Qamishlo.. The death of Dr. Serop Aziz, known as the "Doctor of the Poor"
ARK News.. The Armenian doctor and socialite, Serop Bako Aziz, died in Qamishlo city, Syrian Kurdistan, at the age of 76.
The medical, social and cultural circles, on Wednesday, July 18, 2024, mourned Dr. Serop Bako Aziz, who enjoyed wide popularity and devoted his knowledge and profession to serving the people of the region, describing him as “the doctor of the poor.”
Dr. Serop, a specialist in general medicine, was born in 1948. He graduated from Yerevan University in Armenia. He worked in the profession for 43 years.
In addition to his mother tongue, he was proficient in speaking the Kurdish, Arabic, Assyrian, and Syriac languages.
During his career, he held several health administrative positions in the region, including (former director of the National Hospital in Qamishlo), in addition to working in his private clinic.
Doctor Serop was buried in the cemetery of the Orthodox Christian communities in the city of Qamishlo.
