Syrian Democratic Forces kidnap a Kurdish minor from the town of Tel Rif’at
ARK News.. As part of the policy of intimidating children, robbing them of their childhood, and throwing them into forced conscription camps in the areas they control, the Syrian Democratic Forces kidnapped a Kurdish minor from the city of Afrin.
A private source reported to ARK News that militants of the Revolutionary Youth Movement affiliated with the Syrian Democratic Forces kidnapped the 14-year-old minor, Fidan Hussein Billo, in the town of Tel Rif’at, and took her to compulsory conscription camps.
The source explained that the kidnapped minor comes from the village of (Khilalka) in the Bilbile of Afrin city in Syrian Kurdistan, and all attempts by the family of the kidnapped girl failed, as the authorities and departments affiliated with the PYD administration and the Syrian Democratic Forces who reviewed them denied knowledge of the fate of the child and her whereabouts.
Antonio Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations, said during a report entitled “Children and Armed Conflict” issued on June 3, 2024 that the Syrian Democratic Forces and parties affiliated with it recruited (462) children in the areas they control during the year 2023.
The Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, expressed his concern about the worsening recruitment and use of children at the hands of the Syrian Democratic Forces, and called for the implementation of the action plan signed by Mazloum Abdi, the commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces, with the United Nations representative for children and armed conflict, Virginia Gamba, in 2019 in order to ending and preventing the recruitment of children under the age of 18 and not using them in military operations.
