Thirty-two years since the assassination of Juma Abdul Ghani by PKK militants

ARK News.. Friday, July 12, 2024, marked the thirty-second anniversary of the assassination of Juma Abdul Ghani by the PKK in Derik city, Syrian Kurdistan, in a brutal, as mafia manner, and some of the perpetrators of the crime have become leaders in the region.

Writer Walid Haj Abdul Qadir told the ARK website that a number of PKK militants close to the martyr assassinated him in front of his house, after developing a precise plan for the operation, as the gunmen were ten persons and they are known to the people of the region - ready to kill everyone who crossed their path, and he intercepts them.

According to writer Abdul Qadir, the martyr was fully aware that there was a planned plan to assassinate him, yet he refused to leave Derik.

The Kurdish writer explained that Juma Abdul Ghani defected from the PKK, and criticized the mistakes and practices they were making, so he was targeted like other victims who were martyred at the hands of the aforementioned party.

Pointing out: After defecting from the party, the PKK devised a plan to assassinate him, and on July 12, 1992, they actually managed to assassinate him in front of his little girl, Ronahi, in Derik, with hands close to him, as the perpetrators had a close relationship with the murdered person and used to frequent his house, and some of them became leaders in the region.

The writer Abdul Qadir continued: The file of the martyr Juma Abdul Ghani is a case of political assassination, not a social issue between two families, and the Juma file must be dealt with from this perspective.
