PKK Affiliated militias attack PUK Headquarters in Sinjar

ARK News: militias affiliated with the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) attacked yesterday a Patriotic Union of Kurdistan(PUK) headquarters in the Yezidi majority populated region of Sinjar.

According to what Shafaq News reported that the militias dropped the flag and emblem of the Party from the top of the building, adding that it is not known yet if they were the PKK militants or its supporters from the area as a reaction to PUK's decision to close down a PKK affiliated political Party in Sulaimaniya province.

Earlier on Tuesday, Qubad Talabani, a leading member of the PUK and the son of late Secretary General Jalal Talabani, ordered the closure of all headquarters of Tavgara Azadi ( PAK) in Sulaimaniya province which has not obtained an approval for their activities from Kurdistan’s interior ministry.

This comes after the tension witnessed in relations between the two Parties, especially after the issuance of a decision to close down the offices a Kurdistan Workers Party-affiliated political Party in Sulaimaniya province and other areas in the Kurdistan Region.
