Dozens of deaths and injuries occurred in the Kabajib desert in the Deir Ez-Zour countryside
ARK News… Syrian media sources revealed that ISIS gunmen attacked the Kabajib desert in the southern countryside of Deir Ez-Zour, resulting in dozens of casualties, including dead and wounded.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said: “It was confirmed that (18) people were killed, including (4) National Defense members, (16) others were injured, and more than (50) were missing in the attack launched by gunmen, who are likely to belong to ISIS cells in the desert.” Kabajib in the southern countryside of Deir Ez-Zour, after they were besieged in the area, while collecting truffles.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights added: “ISIS militants targeted the victims with machine guns, and violent clashes subsequently broke out between ISIS cells and National Defense members, including the burning of 12 cars at the site of the clash.”
For its part, the Deir Ez-Zour Media Center said that unidentified persons riding motorcycles attacked dozens of truffle pickers in the Kabajib desert, south of Deir Ez-Zour. Dozens of people were killed and injured as a result of the attack, while dozens of civilians are still missing, including women and children.
According to the Syrian Observatory, the death toll during military operations within the Syrian desert during the year 2024 reached 186 people.
