ARK News… The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights confirmed that ISIS terrorist cells continue to escalate their military operations within various areas of the Syrian desert, targeting regime forces and militants loyal to them with their operations.

The Observatory explained, "These cells rely on carrying out lightning attacks and planting mines to cause deaths among the ranks of regime forces and militants loyal to them, in addition to causing the death of civilians during these attacks."

According to statistics, since the beginning of this year, ISIS cells have carried out 50 separate operations in the desert, carried out through ambushes, armed attacks, and bombings in “the west of the Euphrates and the desert of Deir Ez-Zour, Raqqa, and Homs.”

The death toll during military operations within the Syrian desert, according to documentation by the Syrian Observatory, has reached 133 dead since the beginning of 2024, including 17 from ISIS and 101 from regime forces and militias.

5 civilians were also killed while collecting truffles, and 10 people, including a child, were killed in ISIS attacks in the Syrian desert.
